Meet Our Director

Nicole W.

Nicole’s passion for early childhood education began with the inspiration of her own kindergarten teacher, whose kindness and dedication motivated her to pursue a career helping young children learn and grow. Shortly after graduating from high school, she began working in an after-school program, tutoring elementary-aged students and discovering her love for teaching.

In 2013, Nicole began her career in early childhood education as a Lead Pre-K Teacher at a private preschool in Torrance. Through her dedication and leadership, she was promoted to Assistant Site Supervisor, where she gained valuable experience supporting teachers, children, and families.

Nicole earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education Administration from Ashford University in 2020 and her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Arizona Global Campus in 2022. She joined Beth David Preschool in 2022 and is proud to serve as the school’s Director.

Nicole is passionate about creating a warm, nurturing environment where children develop a lifelong love of learning. She believes that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential. She is equally committed to supporting and mentoring teachers while partnering with families to help children thrive both at school and at home.

Her goal is to inspire confidence, curiosity, kindness, and a love of learning in every child who walks through Beth David Preschool’s doors. She hopes to be remembered not only for helping children build a strong academic foundation, but also for being a compassionate mentor, advocate, and positive role model for children, families, and educators alike.

Her classroom is filled with creativity, movement, and discovery through activities such as cooking, art, music, dance, poetry, science, and sensory exploration. She uses a variety of teaching strategies to ensure every child—regardless of their learning style or developmental level—feels successful, confident, and included.

As the parent of a son with special needs, Ms. April has developed a deep understanding of the importance of meeting each child where they are. She thoughtfully adapts her curriculum to support every learner, creating an environment where all children can thrive.

When she’s not in the classroom, Ms. April enjoys scrapbooking, shopping, and cooking for family and friends. Her enthusiasm, creativity, and decades of experience make her an incredible mentor and a beloved teacher within the Beth David Preschool community.

In her classroom, children learn through a variety of hands-on, developmentally appropriate experiences in a warm, nurturing environment. Ms. Sheila is committed to supporting each child’s academic growth while also fostering their physical, social, and emotional development. She believes that helping children build confidence, independence, and positive relationships is just as important as preparing them for future academic success.

Dedicated to lifelong learning herself, Ms. Sheila continually expands her knowledge by taking online early childhood education courses and earning additional child development certifications.
